I have read this book a few times and I am continually amazed at the sheer courage of the man who helped pioneer this critical "hidden" unit of the U.S. military. From other writings about Beckwith one would think he was a man of horrid arrogance and a man of few friends, but reading his own account of Delta Forces' beginnings, he strikes me as a man of great humility. This would account for his success. I highly recommend it!
