Horrible.Horrible.Horrible. I did not find the sexual activities between a gay 13 year old and 32 year old to be entertaining. That is utterly disgusting and I can't believe that the author betrayed it as a love filled relationship instead of a pedophile messing with a little boy. The little boy was just too ignorant and naive to realize it. I liked it at first...then it did a 360.

I don't usually read memoirs, because so often they are "please pity me" stories, but after reading the back of this one, I couldn't resist. And, the book itself did not disappoint. I enjoyed every page of it, and honestly could not put it down. I stayed up until four in the morning, reading the whole book in one sitting, and immediatley went out to purchase the rest of Burroughs' books.

A terrible book! Billed as "funny and heartbreaking"; I found it merely disgusting. There was nothing entertaining in the author's descriptions of the filth and depravity in which he lived with the guardian, his sexual exploits with a pedophile, his mother's insanity, a toddler sexualy stimulated by a dog! Where were the child abuse authorities? I'm sure Mr. Burroughs had a terrible childhood but I found nothing redeeming in the telling.
