I've been wanting to read this for some time and finally picked it up. I suggest you don't wait any longer to get your copy. Allende's City of the Beasts is an amazing page-turner seamlessly combining fact and fantasy. The book takes you into the Amazon and almost feels like the start of a bad sci-fi flick but then shifts in an entirely different direction with mythic creatures and wild natives.
