Weetzie Bat is an intriguing novel. It looks into the struggles and dreams of a non-conforming girl. Even though it was written in 1989, people today can definately relate to this story! It addresses the topics of true love, divorce, homosexuality, sex, work, fun, death, disease, and non-traditional families. This book has no problem fitting into today's society. it is definately a mind-opener.
