If you stay inside long enough, at a certain point it will start to escape even a cat as well traveled as Fup that the walls and ceilings you take for granted all day long, the privacy, and the capacity for deep relaxation a closed environment affords, well, it's not a natural state of being.

Her blue blanket, folded four times thick, has molded to the shape of her curled body.

No predators. Always something to eat when you're hungry. You lose your edge. Your thoughts branch out. It's broadening. Exactly how Fup feels about this, she hasn't decided. The more she lies there, the more tired all the thinking makes her, the more she appreciates the blanket, and the walls, and the food.
