"Fup," the reporter called from the other side of the dressing room door, "are you not feeling well?" "Fup!" a photographer shouted, her camera a useless weight around her neck, "will you come out if we promise not to take pictures?"

Few of those in attendance at our newsletter's Sunday afternoon dress rehearsal, meanwhile, had left the auditorium; the crowd would not disperse. "Dive!" a kid with Coke-bottle glasses who'd made his way to the edge of the stage pleaded, his neck craned up toward the rafters as if the cat might swoop down any instant. "Dive, Fup, dive!"

The crowd began to clap in time. Clap-clap, Clap. Clap-clap, Clap.

"Fup!" "Fup!" "Fup!" they clamored. Where was Fup?

"Fup isn't in this episode," Sebastian announced, shouting through the cone he'd made of his hands. "But we do have more than a million books."

"Pshaw," an older gentleman groaned. "We don't want to read. We want to scratch the cat's belly."
