"I should never have eaten that Power Bar," Fup admitted in the morning. "It didn't agree with me at all."

Still in our tent, I could hear Fup outside, over by the cooler, talking to Nietzsche. The tent's front flap opened and Darin poked his head inside. He asked, "Did you hear what Fup just said?"

"A bit of an understatement, don't you think? Amazing, really, the impact a 2-ounce energy bar in a 16-pound cat can have on an ecosystem the size of a 4-person tent. There's a science lesson in this experience somewhere."
