"Weird," Oreo said again.

All five of them crossed the park toward the crowd.

But apparently they'd missed the action — by the time they reached the edge of the basketball court, the squirrel was done showing off. Done with chin-ups, anyway. Now it was talking.

Standing on the small square of iron that connects rim to backboard, it seemed to be saying, "Klickitat-klickitat-klicka-klicka-klicka-klickitat..."

Bear asked no one in particular, "Do they have to talk so fast? They're worse than the French."

"Mile-a-minute."

"The French? Who do you know that's French?"

"Quiet," Bagheera shushed them. "It's talking about Fup," he said. And then after a pause, "Or else it's just swearing a lot."
