In Tokaido, each player is a traveler crossing the “East sea
road”, one of the most magnificent roads of Japan. While traveling, you
will meet people, taste fine meals, collect beautiful items, discover
great panoramas, and visit temples and wild places but at the end of the
day, when everyone has arrived at the end of the road you’ll have to be
the most initiated traveler – which means that you’ll have to be the
one who discovered the most interesting and varied things.
Through a unique zen mood, Tokaido is a strategic game while being extraordinarily peaceful and easy to learn.

Be transported to the ancient Tokugawak dynasty, and travel along one of the most famed and beautiful paths in all of Japan.
Tōkaidō, the road that connects Kyoto to Edo, is surrounded by beauty and intrigue on all sides. In Tokaido,
you and your fellow travelers take in the world around you, tasting
exotic foods and exploring ancient temples, you will learn more about
yourselves and the world around you. At the end of this long and winding
road, the traveler who has visited the most memorable places, eaten the
most exotic foods, and met the most remarkable people, will have taken
the steps to initiate themselves along the East Sea Road.
Tokaido is inspired by the sights and sounds that could be
found along the legendary road during Japan’s Edo period. With a
breathtaking minimalist art style and simple rule set, Tokaido promises a peaceful, almost zen-like experience for you and your friends.
