1. Are You Eligible and How to Enter
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER THIS SWEEPSTAKES and, by inference, to win the prize mentioned herein. Eligibility is limited to legal adults (as determined by the entrant's country, state, or province of residence; i.e., over 18 or 19, as applicable). Employees of Powell's Books, Inc., and its participating sponsors are not eligible to win the prize, nor are members of their immediate families. Offer void where prohibited.
By submitting your email address beginning October 13, 2010, at www.powells.com/16, you are entered to win five hundred dollars ($500) in Powells.com online credit. Entries must be submitted before 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) October 29, 2010. Only one (1) entry will be accepted per email address; those entering more than once will be disqualified. Entries submitted after 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) on October 29, 2010, will be disqualified. Powell's Books, Inc., is not responsible for lost, late, or incorrect entries.
2. How We Select the Winner
Powell's Books, Inc., will select the prize winner on November 2, 2010, by randomly drawing one (1) email address from the total pool of entrants. We will notify the winner via email following the drawing. If the selected winner is unreachable, ineligible, or fails to claim the prize within forty-eight (48) hours, the winner will forfeit his or her prize and an alternate winner will be selected. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
3. About The Prize
One (1) sweepstakes winner will be awarded the prize of five hundred dollars ($500) in Powells.com online credit. The credit expires one year after date of issue. The prize may carry its own limitations, and/or specifications that will be named by Powell's Books, Inc. No part of the sweepstakes prize is transferable. All taxes associated with the receipt or use of the sweepstakes prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. The ultimate classification of the prize remains at the discretion of Powells.com.
4. Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity Release
The sweepstakes winner may be required to execute a legal affidavit of eligibility and acceptance of these Official Rules, release of liability, confirmation of rights, and, except where prohibited by law, consent to use of his or her name, city, state or province, and/or prize information, without limitation for promotional purposes and without further payment.
By submitting an entry, entrants release Powell's Books, Inc., our sponsors and their affiliated companies from any and all liability for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the prize (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, and losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, or rights of publicity or privacy). EMAIL ADDRESSES SUBMITTED TO POWELL'S BOOKS, INC. WILL NOT BE SHARED, SOLD, OR DISCLOSED TO THIRD PARTIES, EXCEPT AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules, which are final and binding in all respects. These Official Rules constitute the entire agreement of the parties with respect to the subject matter addressed here and may not be altered except by a written document signed both by qualified representatives of Powells.com and the entrant. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Powells.com reserves the right to change these Official Rules at any time. Any entrant who violates these Official Rules will be subject to disqualification.
