This book is a light hearted but informative hop, skip and a jump through the complex language of dance. My hope is that in A Dictionary of Dance, any young dancer can be inspired through the bright animated illustrations, and learn all about arabesques, break dancing, choreographers, and the zones of the body everything that comes together to make a dance, whether it's ballet or the polka. My heart lifted my feet and I danced!!!!!
As a child growing up I spent some time in Denmark where I came across an artist called Carl Larrson. He had a profound influence on the way I drew and my love of painting children in their environment.

Liz Murphy was born and raised in Surrey, England, and attended the Kingston Art College, where she majored in graphic design. She now lives in Montclair, New Jersey, with her husband and their two sons and enjoys attending dance performances whenever she gets the chance.
