Powell's Books at Cedar Hills Crossing
Store Grand Opening November 17, 2006

November 6, 2006, Portland, OR —Powell's Books is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its new Cedar Hills Crossing store on Friday, November 17, 2006. The 32,500-square-foot location offers customers double the retail space of Powell's current Beaverton store at Cascade Plaza, along with upgraded amenities, an expanded children's section, comfortable author events space, and more areas for book browsing.

To celebrate, Powell's Books invites all community members and Powell's patrons to a store opening reception at 6 p.m. Following the reception, Powell's Books at Cedar Hills Crossing welcomes special guest Mireille Guiliano, author of French Women for All Seasons and French Women Don't Get Fat.

"Emily and I want to thank our Beaverton customers, whohave beenso supportive over the past twenty-two years. We are very committed to our west-side shoppers and pleased to offer them a wider selection of books and more services," stated MichaelPowell.

Powell's Books at Cedar Hills Crossing has scheduled a substantial line-up of best-selling authors in its new events space to continue the store opening celebration, including the following guests:

November 17
6pm: Store Opening Reception (hors d'oeuvres served)
7pm: Mireille Guiliano, author of French Women Don’t Get Fat, presents her new book French Women for All Seasons.

November 20
7pm: Erik Larson, author of The Devil in the White City, presents his new nonfiction thriller Thunderstruck.

November 22
7pm: Medical journalist Andrew Holtz presents the facts behind the addictive t.v. drama in his new book The Medical Science of House, M.D.

November 28
7pm: Nick Bantock, author of the famed Griffin & Sabine saga, presents his new illustrated novel Windflower.

November 29
7pm: Christopher Kimball, publisher and editor of Cook's Illustrated magazine, presents the newly revised edition of The America's Test Kitchen Family Cookbook.

Monday through Saturday: 9am to 9pm
Sunday: 10am to 7pm
Thanksgiving Day: Closed
Christmas Eve: 9am to 6pm

New Year’s Eve: 9am to 6pm
New Year’s Day: 11am to 9pm

Please note: Powell’s Books at Cascade Plaza will close permanently on Monday, November 12, in preparation for the move to Cedar Hills Crossing.
