Join the Powell's Potter Party June 26, 2007, Portland, OR Harry Potter book lovers anxiously await the stroke of midnight, July 20, 2007 when Potter readers across the world ring in the seventh and final book. In Portland, fans are invited to attend Harry Potter release parties at Powell's Books: The Faculty of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and Powell's Books request your presence for the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Festivities will be held at Powell's City of Books, Powell's on Hawthorne, and Powell's Books at Cedar Hills Crossing and will commence at 10pm, Friday, July 20, 2007. Books will be available at precisely one minute past midnight. Similar to Harry Potter Parties in years past, Powell's Books will host a fun-filled evening with games, prizes, and entertainment. All party guests are invited and encouraged to wear Harry Potter costumes. The Burnside Store will once again close Couch Street allowing the party and line to flow into the street. "We're pleased as punch to present the last Harry Potter book at 12:01am, July 21st," declares Danielle Marshall, merchandising and promotions specialist at Powell's, adding "As the excitement builds, so do our bittersweet feelings over the loss of the series."
