Laton McCartney provides an entertaining history of the Teapot Dome scandal. Written in a light style, the book is a page-turner that provides a thoughtful history of the players involved, what they did to steal from the public and its aftermath.

I would not call McCartney's research "scholarly", but it is thorough. This is a great book if you want to understand the history of Teapot Dome.

In this year of history making politics preceded by years of cover up and efforts to keep the truth away from the public, Laton McCartney's The Teapot Dome Scandal reminds us that it has all happened before. But back then, there was a lot more humor. This was an enjoyable read and I ordered several copies for family members whom I knew would enjoy this book because they lived through it. But this is definitely a multi generational book.
