"Inspired by her grandparents' love story in which the grandmother outlived her husband by nearly three decades, Niffenegger has invented Henry and Clare, and their unique and complicated love story involving the ability to live in the past and future in an unpredictable parallel. Delightful, imaginative, with an unforgettable conclusion." Donna Kane, Powells.com

Synopsis:
Their bizarre life and the challenges they face are the same burdens that ultimately we all must deal with the inability to have control over their lives. However, what Henry's affliction does provide them is a glimpse to their final hours and to the novel's breathtaking ending. The Time Traveler's Wife is a story about adoration, separation, and ultimately about how time defines so much in our lives.
Synopsis:
The Time Traveler's Wife depicts the effects of time travel on Henry and Clare's marriage and their passionate love for each other as the story unfolds from both points of view. Clare and Henry attempt to live normal lives, pursuing familiar goals — steady jobs, good friends, children of their own. All of this is threatened by something they can neither prevent nor control, making their story intensely moving and entirely unforgettable.

If I could give this more stars, I would. This is my favorite book ever (and that's saying a lot). Romantic without being sappy, enormously suspenseful, and just jolly good fun, it's really an incredible book. And even better- it's a very different book the second time you read it!

This seemingly impossible love story of two people, Henry and Claire, is eloquently written. This book tells a tale that is woven to aide readers to identify and understand the difficulties of love, life, and loss. I give this book five stars for the well developed characters that make this novel truly real and heartfelt and for the way the author wrote this novel. I could tell that Niffenegger wrote this tale from her heart. I am sincerely glad that she wrote this book and that I was lucky enough to stumble upon it.
