Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston on January 17, 1706, attended the Continental Congress in 1776, signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776, was the United States Minister to France from 1778-1785, elected the President of Pennsylvania in 1785 and was a member of the Constitutional Congress in 1787. He produced his Almanack for a quarter of a century.
