Synopses & Reviews
Lily was at a picnic with her father and her little sister, Ruby, but it wasnt much fun.” So opens the final story in Gail Silvers celebrated Anhs Anger trilogy. Ruby was spoiling Lilys time, making it impossible for her to play her game, and she was mad. But when Lily pushed her sister out of the way, her father comforted Ruby. Lily was confused. Luckily, her father had brought something else on their picnic, a journal his own grandfather had written when he was a boy, in which he wrote about the first time he met his Anger. As Lily and her father turned the sepia pages of the old notebook, they read about Metta, the ancient meditation practice during which you wish happiness, health, safety, and loving kindness for yourself and those people toward whom you are having difficult feelings. With original watercolors by award-winning illustrator Youme Nguyen Ly,
Peace, Bugs, and Understanding helps children acknowledge anger, understand the cause of their anger, and ultimately feel safe expressing themselves and accepting accountability for their actions when appropriate. By learning these skills, children can grow comfortable with them and carry them into adulthood with ease and confidence.

Praise for
Ahn's Anger:
"One of the best books we've ever seen on the issue of dealing with anger...Getting angry is normal. The question is how do you deal with your anger. In this incredible story, Anh gets really angry and gets sent to his room to 'sit with' his anger. Anh not only sits with his anger, he chats, dances, and plays with his anger. This story is simply amazing, healthy, beautiful...a gem." ReachandTeach.com
"Promotes deep breathing as the ideal way to regain control during a tantrum." The New Yorker
Praise for Steps and Stones:
"My lessons on keeping your cool in school just got a whole lot better. This is the sequel to Ahn's Anger and it is an ESSENTIAL resource...As a school counselor, I rely on books like this to help teach calming down techniques kids will actually use...I am thrilled to share such a healing book with our students, especially those who are stuck in constant anger. Parents, teachers, and counselors will appreciate having this on their shelf when they need to teach or reteach this important skill." Books That Heal Kids
