Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Rusty starts out as an ordinary house kitten, but his travels deep into the forest involve him in the epic battles of the cat warrior clans who roam (and rule) the wild. With a new name — Firepaw — and a position as a ThunderClan apprentice, our feline hero faces his destiny, struggles with issues of friendship, honour, courage, and betrayal, and learns what it truly means to be a warrior.

Review:

"[T]he first exciting installment....Certain to please any young reader who has ever wondered what dreams of grandeur may haunt the family cat." Publishers Weekly

Review:

"Hunter debuts with a suspenseful animal adventure that will leave readers eyeing Puss a bit nervously....Teen readers will readily identify with Firepaw's strenuous efforts to fit into the group...and rejoice at the promised sequel." Kirkus Reviews

Review:

"[S]pine-tingling....Intelligence notwithstanding, the cat characters are true to their feline nature, making this sure to appeal to fans of Clare Bell's long-popular Ratha's Creature (1983)...and also to followers of Brian Jacques' ongoing Redwall series." Booklist

Review:

"The author has created an intriguing world with an intricate structure and mythology, and an engaging young hero....This is not as elegantly written as Brian Jacques's Redwall series, but it's another option for fans of animal adventure/fantasy stories." School Library Journal

Synopsis:

Fire alone can save our clan...

For generations, four Clans of wild cats have shared the forest according to the laws laid down by their warrior ancestors. But the ThunderClan cats are in grave danger, and the sinister ShadowClan grows stronger every day. Noble warriors are dying — and some deaths are more mysterious than others.

In the midst of this turmoil appears an ordinary house cat named Rusty...who may turn out to be the bravest warrior of them all.

I LOVE Warriors books. I'm on the second book of the third miniseries right now, and read the super edition and the first book in the Graystripe's Triology Manga series. I miss the first miniseries, especially this book. Firestar (or Rusty/Firepaw/Fireheart in this book) was so young and carefree then, now he has so many responsibilities as a leader. I always think back to this book, which makes me want to cry (in the good way.) I LOVE THIS BOOK AND ERIN HUNTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really need to say a few more things about this book!
I didn't really explain what it was about.
Rusty-soon to be known as firepaw-a kittypet wich would mean he is owned by a human, goes into these woods where he has waundered into the thunderclan where he finds that he truely belongs there and he trains to be a warrior. He goes through alot in this training but you'll have't to read it to see what happens....but please read this book its so amazing and purrrr-fect!!Be ready to be holding your breath at some parts!
