In 35 years of construction, I have never seen a book so well done about a topic so needing a book. The initial premise is so right on. The existing housing stock needs to be dealt with. It cannot be just new. The actual book is a work of art. The regional aspect with case studies is outstanding. The low fruit and more advanced steps is an excellent way to approach material of this sort. The photos and other sidebars just fall in line. The appendices are worth the price by themselves.

"Natural Remodeling" is a very welcomed addition to the literature on creating a green home. The book is a treasure trove of inspiration and information. The rich format of color photographs and illustrations makes the book especially appealing. The content is equally engaging with a blend of practical information on green building principles, essays on the more philosophical aspects of living green, and real life "case studies" documenting how people have greened their own homes. The writing is excellent and reflects the same helpful, thoughtful, friendly tone as the lay out. We will be recommending this book to all of our clients embarking on home remodels as it outlines the framework one needs for making environmentally sound and life enhancing changes to your home.
