Publisher Comments:

What do you do? Tim Ferriss has trouble answering the question. Depending on when you ask this controversial Princeton University guest lecturer, he might answer: "I race motorcycles in Europe." "I ski in the Andes." "I scuba dive in Panama." "I dance tango in Buenos Aires." He has spent more than five years learning the secrets of the New Rich, a fast-growing subculture who has abandoned the "deferred-life plan" (slaversaver retire) and instead mastered the new currencies—time and mobility—to create luxury lifestyles in the here and now.

Whether you are an overworked employee or an entrepreneur trapped in your own business, this book is the compass for a new and revolutionary world. Join Tim Ferriss as he teaches you: What the crucial difference is between absolute and relative income, how to train your boss to value performance over presence, or kill your job (or company) if it’s beyond repair, what automated cash-flow "muses" are and how to create one in 2 to 4 weeks, how to cultivate selective ignorance — and create time — with a low-information diet, what the management secrets of Remote Control CEOs are, how to get free housing worldwide and airfare at 50–80% off, and how to fill the void and create a meaningful life after removing work and the office.

You can have it all — really.

Timothy Ferriss obviously has a different moral compass than I have. He advocates exploiting loopholes and people in order to get what one wants. While I appreciate the idea of working less and enjoying life more, I am repulsed by some of the unethical (by my standards, I suppose, but at least I have standards) choices Ferriss has made. This book will do nothing but leave a hole in your pocket in the amount you paid for it. If you feel you must have it, check it out from the library first to see if the ideas he puts forth align with your own sense of right and wrong.

This is a really interesting read for anyone who likes to think outside the box! Timothy Ferriss has a unique outlook on the business world and offers specific advice for readers who want to follow in his footsteps. After checking out the companion website I noticed that it seems this book is fast developing a cult following and I can definitely see why.

Is it possible to have others do most of your work, or get your boss to value reduced hours? In the The 4 Hour Workweek, Timothy Ferriss says these changes are not only possible, but essential. Ferriss says simple, creative uses of technology and new ways of looking at your life/work balance can lead to incredible freedom. This is a controversial mix of ideas that some say have changed their lives, but others label unrealistic.
