Getting Started in Signing teaches students the basic words, phrases, and expressions of American Sign Language (ASL) using a simple, step-by-step approach. Students will learn everything they need to begin using sign language in practical, everyday situations from talking about family, to planning a party, to shopping at the mall.

Two narrators introduce each situation and provide supplementary grammar and vocabulary. The narrators also sign as they speak, and subtitles appear on the screen whenever a new sign is introduced.
