This is a change from the usual genre for the author and I think she successfully hit it out of the park. The characters are relatable and believable, with all of the common angst of teens as well as their tendency to dramatize situations. The plot is fast-paced and well developed, with the conflict one of a teen girl who has lost her father and now her mom wants her to move to a new place and leave everything that is familiar behind. Paisley adores the camp her father established at Camp Starling and the thought of leaving it causes a lot of tears for her. When the new boy at the camp, Hayden Bennett, finds out her dilemma, he makes a plan to help her break up her mom and Dave so that Paisley can stay just where she is. The wit and nostalgia of this book is wonderful and the entire book is entertaining and a fun read.
