Synopses & Reviews
A fun, dishy, and smart modern day reinvention of Philippa Gregory’s The Other Boleyn Girl—for fans of Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger. Just as the popular hit movie
Clueless reimagined Jane Austen's
Emma and
Cruel Intentions brilliantly imitated
Dangerous Liaisons, accredited screenwriter and author Carol Wolper gives Henry the Eighth’s second wife Anne Boleyn a modern frame in which to reveal her tale.
A lot has changed since the sixteenth century…or has it? Instead of headdresses and ball gowns, is it just about shorter skirts and Louboutins? Anne Boleyn arrives on the scene as a woman in her late twenties who is smart, witty, and just a cut above her contemporaries. There’s just something alluring and mysterious, even seductive. She stands out enough to woo her recent paramour Henry, an Internet wizard turned billionaire film producer; make herself an enemy of his ex-wife Catherine, a pill popping neurotic, devoted to her sister Mary, a pot smoking hippie, and her brother, a sexually confused actor; and compete in a dangerous game for power with Theresa Cromwell, a manipulative but highly intelligent businesswoman who works for Henry. But Anne of the twenty-first century has the element of surprise working in her favor and few tricks up her sleeve. This Anne is not willing to leave her fate in the hands of anyone, not even her “King”….
Carol Wolper captures the spirit and energy of Anne Boleyn in a way you’ve never seen before, giving her a modern canvas to rewrite her own story; and in ending you’ll never see coming, Anne just might get the poetic justice some believe she’s always deserved and pull off her own version of the modern Hollywood ending.
Review
"The story of Henry and his wives is a perfect tale for a modern Hollywood update and Wolper gives it a fun witty spin. This is a perfect beach read for anyone headed somewhere warm for a mid-winter break or, for those not traveling, the perfect book to lose oneself in on a dreary day."

Welcome to a privileged world where hidden motives abound, everyone has something to sell, and safe havens don’t exist. Anne will do anything to hold on to the man—and the lifestyle—she adores, however, even if sticking your neck out in Hollywood means risking far worse than a broken heart. Can she muster the charm and wit to pull off her very own Hollywood ending?
