Amish Love Letters by Shelley Shepard Gray, Charlotte Hubbard, & Rosalind Lauer contains three sweet Amish stories. Love Letter Courtship by Shelley Shepard Gray is a charming tale. It is well-written with engaging characters. Jennie Miller and Matthew Lapp may have grown up together, but their courtship seems to be a Miller family affair. A month-long letter courtship will give the pair an opportunity to get to know each other as adults. We see that you may grow up with someone, yet you may not know everything about them. Love Letter Courtship is an emotional novel with a lovely ending. S.W.A.K. by Charlotte Hubbard takes us back to Promise Lodge. I found Eddie Brubaker & the determined letter writer to be frustrating. The story seemed to go around in circles. Eddie ignored advice & managed to hurt someone's feelings in the process. I was surprised that an Amish girl was so brazen. There are too many characters. The story does have a good lesson or two. The romance was rushed. The Wrong Valentine by Rosalind Lauer is a touching story. I thought it contained good writing & characters. The descriptions of Mose’s sketches & Martha’s Valentine’s allowed me to visualize them. The ending left me smiling. Amish Love Letters is a triumvirate of tales with a letter courtship, an interfering family, pink correspondence, painting parties, helpful counsel, a wary widow, cute sketches, and helpful friends.
