Her Patchwork Amish Family by Winnie Griggs is a sweet Amish story. I enjoy Winnie Grigg’s writing style. It makes the story easy and pleasing to read. I like the characters and the setting. I enjoyed getting to know Martha Eicher and Asher Lantz. The three children (Asher’s niece—Lottie and three nephews) are endearing. The triplets are extremely active and mischievous (Zeke, Zeb, and Zack). Martha’s former teaching experience helps her in dealing with the children. She can see what the four kids need. In the story, we get to see how a mistaken belief can harm people and relationships. I like that we get a glimpse of life in an Amish household. I liked how Martha taught the children how to do their chores. We also get to see how Amish traditions are passed on to the next generation. It turns out that Asher and Martha have a lot in common. Asher has cared for Martha since he was a student. I enjoyed reading this charming, wholesome story. While Her Patchwork Amish Family is the third book in the Hope’s Haven series, it can be read as a standalone. We do get to catch up with Greta and Noah as well as Hannah and Micah. I appreciated the humor in the story. Her Patchwork Amish Family has forgiveness, love, family, friendship, and faith. Her Amish Patchwork Family is a touching tale with an injured nanny, energetic triplets, a mud mishap, courting correspondence, a timid miss, a past misapprehension, and an insightful Gott.
