Synopses & Reviews
Synopsis
In this humorous yet informative work, Amanda Marcotte covers the social and political issues young people care about--examining everything from welfare and GLBTQ rights to reproductive access and the war on drugs.
Today's young progressive voice is oftentimes silenced by loud conservative opposition. "Get Opinionated" works to change this with a guide to the issues, how to get involved, and how to spread your voice. Marcotte is a confidant for the young woman who wants to be more politically involved, but needs a bit of a nudge in the right direction.
Whether you're a newcomer to politics or just looking for some further direction, "Get Opinionated" will help you find the facts, the truth, and your political voice.
Synopsis
For those who like their politics blunt, raw, and uncompromising comes
Get Opinionated—a guide to the issues you care about: environmentalism, reproductive rights and access, taxes and public wealth, GLBTQ rights, health care, the War on Terror, the War on Drugs, and the Culture Wars.
Get Opinionated will help you find your political voice and galvanize you into action—or at least help you understand which issues you care about (or which ones most piss you off)—and why.
