Synopses & Reviews
The photographs and cartoon portraits in this volume, collected by Martin Gilbert over several years, vividly portrait the variety and span of Winston Churchill's life. More than a third of the photographs and most of the cartoons came from Sir Winston's own albums, appearing nowhere else. Displayed here, they are supported by a rich historical commentary, often in Churchill's own words or those of this contemporaries. The result is a unique photographic record, as remarkable for its completeness as for the many fascinating pictures it contains.
