Synopsis
War-orphan Josselin Ancrum, a Scottish beauty raised by three soldiers, has combat in her blood and is ready to defend the honor of young Mary Queen of Scots. Andrew Armstrong, an Englishman also orphaned by war, has been trained by his three uncles to be a peerless swordsman. But having no stomach for battle, he instead disguises himself as Highlander Drew MacAdam and wreaks revenge against the Lowlanders who slew his father--by draining their purses rather than spilling their blood.
But when Drew meets young Josselin and sees that her defense of her Queen is putting her in mortal danger, he knows he must fight like a soldier after all -- to protect Josselin. As the two fall deeply in love and Josselin learns the terrible secret of their entwined past, the question becomes how they will reconcile the clash of their Queens Mary and Elizabeth with their own fiery passion for one another....
