Synopsis
Feminist Poetics argues that the influence of poststructuralism has changed poetics from the study of ready-made textual forms into poeisis -- the study of the making or performing of those forms Threadgold takes the infamous Governor murder stories -- a sensational murder case in Australia in 1900 -- as a case study and uses the extensive group of texts produced about the case to answer the questions raised by feminist theory -- who writes and for whom, and who reads and how and why.
Synopsis

The second half uses that differently disciplined voice to re-read the textual traces of the Governor murder stories, murders committed against white women and children by black men in Australia in 1900. This book is a feminist poetics for those who are engaged in the teaching of Literacies, and in the making of Knowledge about literacies.
