Synopses & Reviews
Business Goals is a three-level short course in communicative English for learners who need English for business purposes. The course aims to give elementary to intermediate learners the ability to use English in a wide range of business and social situations. Each Student's Book provides 30-40 hours of classwork and introduces functional language, vocabulary and grammar in manageable amounts through realistic business situations. Learners are provided with many opportunities for communicative spoken practice through realistic and motivating tasks and activities. With a focus on listening and speaking, learners are able to build their confidence in areas such as telephoning, ordering, making reservations, making conversation and dealing with problems in authentic business contexts. Workbooks 1 & 2 provide extra practice of all four skills and train students in the types of questions and tasks found in the BEC Preliminary exam. Audio material includes recordings for listening development and also sample answers for the speaking part of the exam. Each Teacher's Book contains: clear, easy-to-follow lesson plans which are particularly helpful for less experienced teachers; suggestions for homework and pronunciation; full answer keys and transcripts; additional photocopiable activities; reading texts and five progress tests.
