I'm a sighted person who is learning Braille. This book was inspirational and touched my heart. By the end, I was in tears. How easy it is for us, endowed with so much, to ignore the trials and tribulations of those who are handicapped in some way. The author shows us how determined Louis Braille was, and how despite all odds he overcame them and invented books for the blind. His system of writing involving raised dots is used to this day. The book is written in child-friendly language so make sure you buy one for your child - and yes, you will love it too.
