It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

I found this book and could not put it down. This book has everything you could want in it. There is the confusion of teens trying to find themselves and the soul breaking issue of rape. This is an incredible story and one that i would recommend and have recommended. In fact somewhere along the shuffle of life, i have lost my copy and am looking to replace it, because it is just that crucial to any bookcase collection of gay/ lesbian/ bisexual/ transgender library.

The highly original prose moves this story convincingly from the beginning through the middle, but something happens after that. The style is no less sharp; it's just that the story takes a turn that will leave readers asking themselves what happened. The ending is something you piece together. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. In any case, it is the most challenging of the novel's three phases.
