Synopsis
An ordinary hike becomes an eye-opening adventure with Jim Arnosky as your guide. In his celebrated style, this author, artist, and naturalist enthusiastically shares a wealth of tips for watching wildlife. He carefully explains how to sharpen observational skills and identify various plants and animals. Jim Arnosky encourages readers of all artistic levels to keep a wildlife journal; his own sketches and hand-written labels greatly add to the personal journal experience. While most field guides focus on a particular region or species, Field Trips provides a bird's eye view over four main categories: birds, animal tracks, insects and shoreline plants. It's a fun and unique way to teach children about wildlife that lurks not very far from their very own doorstep.
