Tap, tap, tap goes Papa's little hammer. Nanita's papa is a shoemaker who works so hard he doesn't even have time to make his own daughter a pair of shoes. Now Nanita's First Communion is coming up, but how can she appear before Our Lady of Guadalupe in bare feet?
Tap, tap, tap. So Nanita decides make the shoes for herself. But somehow, her odd little creations turn out to be enchanted, and they sleepwalk her far, far away. When she awakens, poor Nanita is lost.
How this feisty heroine finds her way back home is sure to delight all young readers, as will the recipe for magical flan.
