About the Author
About the Author Drawing and art have been a part of Deborah Miller's life since the beginning. Very few surfaces have been sacred or safe. She's drawn on everything from toilet paper (it wasn't cushy soft in those days) and redwood boards to drum skins and virtual paper on the computer. Since her first professional show at age 12, she's been the recipient of numerous art awards in a career that has spanned well over 30 years. Trained in the traditional tools of drawing boards and airbrushes, she moved to computers several years ago, during the days of programming sprites in basic. Today her tools are far more sophisticated, as she explores the worlds of CorelDRAW, 3D animation, the Web, and multimedia development. Coauthor and author of several books on computer graphics, and illustrator of anything that does not move fast enough, her goal is to make graphics software understandable. She believes that users should not have to be techie wizards to create computer graphics. Having escaped the city, she resides in the hills of Tennessee with her husband, Mike, her family, and an assortment of cats, dogs, and a wolf. When she's not working, she can be found haunting the Internet.
