About the Author
DAVID M. HOWARD Jr. (B.S., Geneva College; M.A., Wheaton College; A.M., Ph.D., The University of Michigan), is Professor of Old Testament at Bethel Theological Seminary in St. Paul, MInnesota. Formerly he taught at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and Bethel College and Seminary. He is the author of four books, including
Fascinating Bible Facts: People, Places and Events; The Structure of Psalms 93-100; and
Joshua (New American Commentary series), and several dozen articles in scholarly journals and Bible encyclopedias. He has served on Bible translation committees for the
New Living Translation and the
Holman Christian Standard Bible. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society, for which he serves on the Executive Committee as Book Review Editor for Bible of its
Journal, and as Chair of its Old Testament Historical Literature Study Group; the Society of Biblical Literature, for which he serves as Chair of the Biblical Hebrew Poetry Section; and the Institute for Biblical Research.
