Synopsis
The haunting, first-person story of a boy who escaped the killing fields of Cambodia to eventually find Christ and the power of His forgiveness.
Synopsis
In 1975, the Khmer Rhouge seized control of Cambodia. The next years were a nightmare of brainwashing, torture, murder, and revenge. Few who were educated, disliked by government officials, or questioned the Khmer Rhouge, survived. As the son of a teacher, Sokreaksa S. Himm and his family were marked for death.
The day came when the family was marched to a grave already dug in a jungle clearing: the Khmer Rhouge used hoes to hack them down one by one. Sokreaksa, critically wounded, was covered by the bodies of his family. His executioners walked away laughing. That night Sokreaksa climbed from the mass grave to begin a quest to regain more than just his earthly life. Through a series of extraordinary events he made his way to Thailand and then to Canada, where he found faith in Christ. But hatred burned in his heart. Could he possibly forgive his family's killers? It's a vivid insight into the remarkable process of healing and forgiveness
