The
Armageddon story begins one year before the Glorious Appearing, and New Babylon is plunged into total darkness. Inhabitants of the Global Community (GC) Headquarters are completely blind and now writhing with unexplainable pain. It is a perfect time for believers to escape the GC right under Global Potentate Nicolae Carpathia's nose.
The scattered Trib Force is drawn toward the Middle East, as are all the armies of the world, when history hones in on the final battle of the ages. During this last year of the Great Tribulation, safe houses are no longer safe, friends and loved ones must commemorate two lives in one memorial service, and the cast of characters dramatically changes.
Carpathia moves his operation to Al Hillah, the site of his nuclear storehouse. He stages a meeting of the 10 world subpotentates in Baghdad where he unveils his master plot to lay siege of Jerusalem and destroy Petra by amassing an army in the Jezreel Valley so large that it is as a swarm of locust blocking out the sun.
By the time of the war of the great day of God the Almighty, homes have been uprooted, new alliances forged, and the globe has become a powder keg. As Trib Force members prepare for battle, new love is sparked, recent love is formalized, and old love is aggrieved.
It is the moment everyone has been preparing for, the Battle of Armageddon. The fighting force of untold millions covers the plains of Israel from Mount Megiddo and the Valley of Armageddon in the north to Bozrah in Edom in the south and stretches east to west almost the entire breadth of what was known as the Holy Land. The Tribulation Force sacrifices everything in the ultimate battle. With only hours, if not minutes, before the Glorious Appearing of Jesus, who will be left standing?

"The Left Behind series...is among the best-selling fiction books of our times right up there with Tom Clancy and Stephen King." Time

"Christian thriller. Prophecy-based fiction. Juiced-up morality tale. Call it what you like, the Left Behind series...now has a label its creators could never have predicted: blockbuster success." Entertainment Weekly
Review
"Seeing the self-defeating delusions of erstwhile elites exposed may be the greatest pleasure the Left Behind books offer their readers. The plotting alone certainly isn't enough to sustain attention....In order to stretch out the series for so long, Jenkins and LaHaye have larded it with tedious subplots and countless techno-geek scenes."
