The subtitle of this book is "Growing up with a brother or sister with special needs." It is a fabulous collection of short vignettes by siblings who have a brother or sister with some kind of disability or special health need. The writers are from age 4 up to age 18. Their siblings have a wide range of disabilities, like cerebral palsy, autism, emotional challenges, rare syndromes, etc. There are 45 writers, each writing a short page or two. They write about what they like and don't like about their siblings. Here's an excerpt from a 14 year old: "So much money is spent on his equipment, but when I want something, I have to use my own baby-sitting money. I understand why he can't buy his own things but it still makes me mad." It's a great resource with cartoon drawings throughout and large print - user friendly for siblings to know they're not alone in how they feel.
