About the Author
Karla Alexander--quiltmaker, teacher, and author--has written several books on the art of quiltmaking. Her original quilts have been featured in numerous publications, including the popular Martingale and Company yearly wall calendars.
Karla has developed her own quilt-design business, Saginaw Street Quilt Company, which offers a line of more than 50 different designs. Karla believes that beautiful doesn't have to be difficult, and she specializes in techniques that are doable to the average or beginning quilter with just some good old-fashioned practice.
Karla lives in Salem, Oregon, with her husband, Don; the youngest of their three sons, William; and Lucy, the almost-black Lab.
