The Railway Children are Roberta, Peter and Phyllis, three young children who move to a house near a railway when their father is wrongly accused and falsely imprisoned for selling government secrets to the Russians. The children pass the time by watching the railcars go by and waving to the passengers riding the train. Eventually they meet Perks, the station porter and an old gentleman that may be able to help get their father out of prison.
Synopsis
Roberta, Peter, and Phyllis live in a beautiful villa with plenty of clothes, and toys, and the best
parents ever. But one evening, two strangers come to the villa and take the children's father
away. No one will tell them where he has gone, or why. Soon after their father's disappearance,
the family moves from the villa to a tiny house near a busy railroad. The children find plenty of
excitementa landslide, a burning barge, and a stranded boy in a railway tunnel. But in
spite of all the adventure, the children cannot help thinking about their father. What happened
to him? Will he ever come home?
