The Inquiry is part of the effort of the Secretariat to ensure a proper monitoring of the implementation of the goals and recommendations adopted by the United Nations International Conference on Population and Development in 1994 in Cairo. Chapter one offers highlights on major aspects of the views and policies of Governments on population and development; chapter two, information on selected views and policies of Governments is presented in table form by geographical area, development region and country; and chapter three contains frequency distribution for the replies to each item of the questionnaire. A copy of the questionnaire is reproduced in chapter four.
