The title character, Younguncle, is endearing, benevolent and completely, unconventionally brilliant. It is rare to find a book that is truly fascinating to all ages. My five year old devours each word as I delight in reading it again and again. Singh's words dance and entrance as the stories demonstrate that the world can be made to be a better place. A most enchanting book.

Younguncle doesn?t want to stay at one job or find a wife. Instead he helps straighten out some pretty tough problems, like when his sister has to marry a boy who is mean to her, or when his shirt disappears and it seems the baby ate it!, OR when he gets help from a band of monkeys to retrieve a stolen cow OR when his great uncle?s famously fast horse was stolen. That story has a ghost, a bully and his cowardly son and an angry donkey used as bait to lure out the last tiger in a wildlife reserve. As promised, Lulu (aged 8) and I were completely happy!
