Synopsis
Radunsky relates the Belgian legend of a boy, separated from his parents during a war, who desperately needs to . . . well, pee. And so he does--right onto the battle. When those fighting see the child, all the bangs and booms turn to laughter, and war gives way to peace. Inspired by the bronze statue of Manneken Pis in Brussels, Radunsky presents an entertaining antiwar picture book. Full-color illustrations.
About the Author
Vladimir Radunsky is a quiet and peaceful man, and a confirmed pacifist. He would never hurt a fly. Never.
He is the author and illustrator of such wonderful books on peace as Yucka Drucka Droni, Woody Guthrie's Howdi Do, Bling Blang, and My Dolly, and together with Chris Raschka (also a very quiet and peaceful man), Table Manners.
The story of Manneken Pis that he heard in Brussels amazed Mr. Radunsky so much that he immediately created this most peaceful book of all.
Vladimir Radunsky lives peacefully with his wife, two daughters, and their springer spaniel.
