About the Author
Cynthia Zarin is one of America's most noted younger poets. She is an artist-in-residence at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, and her work frequently appears in The New Yorker. She has written two other books for children, Rose and Sebastian and What Do You See When You Shut Your Eyes? She lives in New York City. Martin Matje has illustrated many books in his native France and recently, for American publishers, When It Starts to Snow by Phillis Gershator, Harry and Lulu by Arthur Yorinks, and his own Celeste: A Day in the Park. He lives in Paris.
