Synopses & Reviews
Dear Readers:
Although I've now spent several years writing humor, Night Kills, first released by Avon Books in 1998, is sure to send chills upyour spine. It certainly gave me a bad case of the heebie-jeebiesas I wrote the book in the loft of our house; my children thoughtit was great fun to slip into the room while I was deeply involved ina particularly scary scene and tap me on the shoulder.
When Lee Cates's sister is brutally murdered, all evidence pointsto the woman's adoptive son, a troubled seventeen-year-old.That is, until a handsome outsider, who'd spent that fatal nightwith the good-time girl, is arrested.
Lee is determined to prove her nephew's innocence, even thoughshe finds herself wildly attracted to the handsome suspect whoseems bent on buying the town's loyalty.
Rashly probing into the murder, the blindly loyal Lee learns thatnot everybody in small-town Comfrey, South Carolina, loved herfast-living sister. As Lee continues to probe she realizes -- maybetoo late -- that her sister's secret may lead to her own death.
So sit back and enjoy the spine-tingling story.
I hope you'll write and let me know what you think.
