Synopses & Reviews
Join Father Grim and his shady cast of characters on an exploration of the dark underbelly of childhood. The nursery rhymes in this book have been rewritten in the form of gruesome cautionary tales, and are ghoulishly illustrated, all in a style reminiscent of Tim Burton or Serena Valentino (with a hint of Gorey in there as well).

"Grimly ends up being nasty for nastiness's sake alone. His playground efforts mock the wholesome formula, but they lack the smart, self-consciously parodic wit of the Series of Unfortunate Events or Edward Gorey's Gashlycrumb Tinies." Publishers Weekly

"These takeoffs on standard nursery rhymes have all the subtlety of grade school and adolescent gross-out jokes....This collection is obvious and trite." School Library Journal
