Sugar Town is a wondrous little love story about polyamory, queer dance parties, gentle doms, and really excellent communication. At ;least semi-autobiographical and set in Portland, we get to follow a cute queer cartoonist named Hazel who's visiting from New York, who soon finds herself falling for a rad woman she's just met who works as a dominatrix. The best thing about this is how good everyone is to each other — how Hazel and her boyfriend talk openly about their other partners on Skype and want each other, above all things, to be happy or how selflessly caring Hazel and her new girlfriend are to each other even as they deal with their own issues. Can we please, with sugar on top, get more of this instead of people communicating terribly and generally being monstrous to each other and passing it off as romance?
