My Dear Mmmml"m more mature than Angela, you are quite the ultracrepidarian bounder. Understandably, you are unaware of the many years I have lived on this Earth, so if "acting my age" means I must cease to use quirky wit then I refuse to perpetuate that tradition. However, there is no bad blood between us, for we are both Powells devotees! Pretentiousness need not rear its ugly head at Powells. Let's get back to the books... With Warm Regards (to MMMTA) Angela

Grow up Angela...grrr? Really? Are you stomping your feet too? I'm glad to see that you didn't mention anything in your blog about wanting a beer because you don't sound old enough to have one. I like the site - I liked the old one too but the new look is great - maybe you could add a coloring page for people like Angela, when they want to show off to their friends how "hip" they are they can say "I even colored in the lines...see!!"

I don't know if you have already heard this but... Your web site is really boring! There's so little color that it's almost black and white. The stark white background of everything is really hard to look at for very long. I have a hard time finding anything on a page because it all kind of blurs together. I don't really know if the function is improved because I just can't stay for long because it's so hard to look at. I know you have worked very hard on this but there must be some way to add some defining color and pare down the number of columns maybe. The whole thing seems cluttered and drably same. I would love to have the old site back. :(

Hey, I'm really disappointed with the new look. I go away for a couple weeks and THIS is what I come back to?! What I used to love about Powells is that it reminded me of my favorite city, Portland. It was unique, quirky, had personality. Now you look like Amazon. I hate Amazon. Please, stop trying to look like Amazon. I used to brag to my friends of how down-to-earth and real your site seemed. You even got rid of the picture of the log on the log off screen! I love the log! I'm a dork...I laugh every time I see the log! So, I admit, the way the site looks isn't going to stop me from only shopping with you guys, but I just wanted you to know my heart broke a little when I logged on today. Still love Powells (grrr) Angela

Harry, the events page has been that way for some time now. Your list remains available. When you get to the calendar page, click on "View our upcoming events as a list" under the page header and you'll see the format you're looking for.

formerly, when i clicked on events i could get list by dates of authors and which store they were appearing at. it also included a brief description of what the book was about. now i have to click on a specic store, then click on each individual author to find out what their book is about. why complicate something that was very useful.
