Sonic Youth guitarist makes some noise with his pen in these odd, rambling poems and fake journal entries. In this nice hardcover printing, his language poems can sometimes seem like accompaniment reading for SY's more ambient albums of late, and there are plenty of rock stars sliding in and out of the text to keep your attention sharp. My favorite parts are the interview with Patti Smith (where they ponder if the Dalai Lama is vegetarian), and Richard Meltzer's afterword. In Moore's bio it says that he was nominated best poet in his high school in 1968, which would make him about 50 years old. But what do you expect from a punk-rock prankster?
